A story of courage and resistance at Leoforos Alexandras Stadium: how the swastika was taken down and the Greek flag raised before the Nazis withdrew.
The stadium had been requisitioned by the occupying forces. Its courageous manager made history by removing the occupiers’ flag and replacing it with the blue and white of Greece. His name was Antonis Vrettos.
