Our Town with Themis Rodamitis | 11.13.22

The director Costas Ferris was presented in the show “Our Town” of the Voice of Greece on Sunday, November 13.

The director, writer, lyricist and journalist remembers and tells Themis Rodamitis about his childhood in Cairo, referring to the variety of musical styles he was exposed to in his family environment, strong friendships that have lasted until the present, and his experiences on stage as a supporting actor alongside important artists who performed in the city.

He makes specific reference to the famous Abeteio school, where he studied. He talks about the most memorable acquaintances in his life, about his “gathering” with fellow artists, great filmmakers who created the “New Hellenic Cinema”, refers to his films that made history, such as “To Rebetiko”, the music and television shows which were presented and were well received by the public for years, as well as commenting on political, social and philosophical issues, with special reference to May 1968, which he experienced intensely.

Costas Ferris talks about the many cities of the world he lived in, his haunts, and his routes.

Rare audio material and popular songs of the songwriter are presented in the show, set to music by Thesia Panayiotou and Stavros Xarchakos.
