“Faraway words” with Konstantinos Pittas in Prague

On Monday, November 21, the broadcasting program “Faraway words” went on a mental journey to Europe in the 1980s. Guest of this episode was photographer Konstantinos Pittas, who for five years (1985 – 1989) traveled to 17 European countries, capturing with a small camera, snapshots, starring people living in a changing Europe…
Chatting with Natasa Vissarionos and Giannis – Stelios Tzirvelakis, Mr. Pittas reported that the last photo of this trip was taken the day after the fall of the Berlin Wall and that he had forgotten these photos (about 30,000 of them) in a chest for 25 years…

It is worth noting that 155 of these photographs were presented in a major exhibition at the Benaki Museum while 50 photographs from the Cold War era in Europe will be presented in Prague at the Jakubska Gallery on Thursday, November 24 as part of the exhibition “Images of another Europe”.
