Con Apoifis, president of the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales, visited the Voice of Greece studio from Sydney. During the interview, he spoke about his personal migration story and the evolution of the Greek community in New South Wales, from the 1950s, when he arrived in Australia at the age of three, to the present day. He also discussed his involvement in community affairs and the challenges currently facing the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales.
He said that his main priority today is Greek-language education and ensuring that the community’s eight afternoon schools are adequately staffed with teachers.
