Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 02.11.2023

On Thursday, November 2, 2023, we engage in a discussion with the new director of AVGI, Voula Kechagia, about what the newspaper is planning for the next day, its priorities, but also the internal party developments in the main opposition party. Next up, following the newspaper headlines, through a link to Thessaloniki, we speak with the new Mayor of Kalamaria, Chrysa Arapoglou, as part of the broadcasting program’s tribute to the 22 women Mayors who emerged from the ballot boxes of the local elections. She speaks in detail about her priorities, the way in which she is thinking of exploiting the advantages of the Municipality, especially in the coastal zone, and also about how she can address the long-standing issue of underfunded Local Authorities, in order to achieve her goals.

In the second part of the show we devote time to the cinema, on the occasion of the end of a successful festival taking place in the Region and the beginning of a historic institution for the city of Thessaloniki. From Chania, Matthaios Frantzeskakis, director of the Chania Film Festival, takes stock of the 11th festival that ended on Saturday, October 28, recalls important moments, speaks about the artists who visited the festival and the very important role of volunteers and, of course, talks about his thoughts for next year, for the 12th festival, for which preparations have already started. Matthaios Frantzeskakis is succeeded by Ms. Eleni Androutsopoulou, Head of the Greek schedule of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, which opens on Thursday evening, November 2 and is scheduled to run until the 12th of the month. Among its most significant moments is its attendance by Monica Bellucci, who is to be honored with the Golden Alexander, the tribute to Takis Kanellopoulos, the creator who lived and created his films in Thessaloniki, the first screening of the new film by Greek-American Alexander Payne, which is scheduled to take place in his presence, the tribute to Nikos Perakis and, of course, the festival’s contest schedule, which includes a large number of films from all over the world and aims to visitors in the 7 participating cinemas.

The show ends with international news by Ivana Djordjevic and news from the world of sports, brought to you in studio by Antigone Drakatou.
