On Friday’s broadcast, May 23, 2025, we began with a look at the front pages of major news portals and newspapers, before turning to the international stage. We spoke with Mr. Panagiotis Ioakeimidis, Emeritus Professor at the University of Athens and former Ambassador–Counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about the crisis in Gaza, the European Union’s response, and developments in the war in Ukraine.
In the second hour, we connected live with Abu Dhabi, where Mr. Giannis Karadimitris, a Greek entrepreneur, shared the atmosphere ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four semi-finals. A Tottenham fan who had attended Wednesday’s Europa League final, he’s now staying on to watch both semi-final games—despite being a lifelong supporter of Aris Thessaloniki.
Next, we discussed the newly introduced code of ethics for the use of generative artificial intelligence in journalism, presented by the Panhellenic Federation of Journalists’ Unions (POESY)—a groundbreaking initiative among European media organizations. The update was provided by Mr. Andreas Panagopoulos, Organizational Secretary of POESY.
In the final segment, we shifted our focus to culture and the arts. Ms. Eleni Tzanga spoke about the upcoming Africa Day Festival, organized by the cultural association Vana Ba Africa, taking place on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 at the 1st Square of Psychiko. A unique opportunity for Athenians to explore African culture and connect with members of the African community living among us.
We closed the show with a phone interview with Ms. Vasiliki Koutrouli, actress and playwright from the Experimental Stage of Donousa “En Theatro.” Calling from the island, she shared insights into the performance “We’ll Talk Soon…”, scheduled for Saturday, May 24. The play was inspired by the discovery of 90 undelivered postcards, found inside a long-forgotten suggestions and complaints box on the island.
