Take Your Time with Prokopis Agelopoulos | 13 June 2025

On the Friday edition of the show, 13 June 2025, the first hour was dedicated to the unfolding crisis in the Middle East, with a focus on the efforts of activists and non-governmental organizations striving to support those trapped in the war zone. We spoke with Mr. Panagiotis Mavroeidis, one of 205 Greeks currently in Egypt, who—together with thousands of supporters from around the world—is taking part in a peaceful march to the Gaza border in an effort to break the blockade. Ms. Marikaiti Stasinou, communications officer for the March to Gaza initiative, joined us to share details about this humanitarian campaign.

Following that, Ms. Christina Psarra, General Director of Doctors Without Borders, offered a stark account of life within the besieged area, where thousands of children live under constant threat of death, as the bombing of hospitals, schools, and civilian shelters becomes dangerously routine.

In the second hour, we turned our attention to the theme of children and their free time, as the school year comes to a close. Child psychologist and educator Ms. Danae Deligeorgi provided thoughtful suggestions on how families can meaningfully manage children’s time during the summer months.

To conclude, we had the pleasure of welcoming musician Nikos Xanthoulis to the studio, for a captivating encounter with music and the ancient Greek seven-stringed lyre. Years ago, Xanthoulis rediscovered this extraordinary instrument from antiquity. Today, he is establishing the first International Academy for the Greek Seven-Stringed Lyre. Performing live in the studio, he showcased both the timeless essence and the rich expressive range of an instrument that is inseparably linked with ancient Greek culture—and with our shared history.
