Yiannis Patilis is ‘Poet of the Week’ on VoG | 11-17.12.23

Each weekly episode is a tribute to a contemporary poet from Greece or the Greek Diaspora.
The poets recite their poems themselves, along with an original live music background.

The Poet of the Week 11-17.12.23 is Yiannis Patilis.

Yiannis Patilis was born in Athens in 1947. He studied law and modern Greek philology at the University of Athens and worked as a professor of philology in secondary education. He has published ten poetry anthologies and three poetry collections. The latest one is “The broken is more durable (Poems 1970-2022, Ypsilon Publications). He was the publisher of the literary journal Planodion (1986-2012), while in April 2010 he created a website for short stories called Bonsai Stories, in collaboration with Iro Nikopoulou. His poems have been translated into many languages and have been included in anthologies and magazines, in Greece and abroad.
