Captain Giorgos Konstatatos, scion of a seafaring family, speaks to “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on VOICE OF GREECE. He finished the School of Merchant Shipping in Oinousses and first embarked with the cargo ship “DYNAMOS” of 4,500 tons.
He has been in the shipping industry for almost 40 years and he wanted to show how much he misses this life of a seafarer, because now he has retired. He says that he is jealous of young seafarers because they continue to travel.
In 1998 in the Indian Ocean he saved a ship with a crew of 22, while he does not forget to mention the VOICE OF GREECE. He thanks the show for providing during all these years companionship, entertainment, information and consolation to seafarers.
