On Easter Sunday, May 5th, at 18:00 (Athens time), the show “Our Town” will present a 2-hour Easter festive program.
The musical ensemble METAVASIS, one of the 20 music ensembles of the Music School of Alimos, will present live from the studios of Hellenic Radio for the listeners of Voice of Greece, a program entitled “From Makrigiannis’ tamboura to Xylouris’ lyre”. Characteristic songs from many regions of Greece, played by 25 students of the school with professional skill, under the guidance of the conductor and teacher Konstantinos Asimakis.
A rich artistic program with drums, lyres, violins, lutes, clarinets, saxophones, drums, piano, electric guitars. The show will feature special information about the songs and wishes in the festive spirit of the day.
On Easter Monday, May 6th at 19:00 (Athens time), “Our Town” will make a tribute to the Greek ‘éntekhno’ (art) song.
Twenty-five young musicians from Metavasis music ensemble will play and perform songs by Xarchakos, Papazoglou, Th. Papakonstantinou, Peridis, Malamas, Zoudiaris, Andreou. Conducted by Konstantinos Asimakis.
During the show, the young musicians will talk about the rich and important work done at the Music School of Alimos as well as about the songs that will be heard, about the impact they have on young people, and about the prospects that young musicians have in Greece.
