May 1968. Student protests at the universities of Paris and demonstrations throughout France completely shake the political establishment in France at the time. The revolutionary wind of May ’68 will motivate and inspire student movements throughout Europe as well as the other side of the Atlantic.
Fifty-six years later, France’s political system is vibrating again, but this time on the spectrum of the extreme Right.
ERT journalist Thomas Sideris presented on the Voice of Greece on Friday, July 5, 2024, a radio documentary about the transformation of the political climate of France in five decades, trying to investigate the most important parameters that led the movement of 1968 to be cast aside and gave rise to the extreme right, instilling racist views within the public discourse.
