The great Greek photographer Nelly’s managed to shape with her lens a distinct aesthetic in the field of photography and to highlight the human body as an artistic value.
In this episode of “Our Town”, PhD in art history, museologist and exhibition curator Katerina Koskina joins themis Rodamitis in the studio of Voice of Greece to speak about her acquaintance and close friendship with the photographer that started at the European Cultural Center of Delphi and continued until the end of the photographer’s life.
Koskina is the cutator of the first major exhibition for Nelly’s at the Olympic Games in Barcelona, with the theme “The Body, the Light and Greece of Antiquity”, as well as another exhibitio in 1997, with the theme “From Athens to New York”. A special mention was also made to the exhibition about Nelly’s in Japan in 1999, on the initiative of Theodoros Terzopoulos.
Dimitris Tsitouras, Nelly’s friend and supporter in the releases of her first albums, Dimitris Tsitouras, also speaks on the show.
