Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain on “Take Your Time” | 13 Sept. 2024

The show “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Agelopoulos featured Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain in connection with the performance of the world-renowned work “ZORBA THE GREEK.”

The award-winning landmark of contemporary Greek culture, “Zorba the Greek,” returns with the grand choreography of Lorca Massine at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus for a one-night-only performance on Wednesday, October 9th, at 21:00.

The event is organized by the Thyateira Association, a charitable, cultural, and social organization that supports the humanitarian work of His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, Exarch of Western Europe and Ireland. It serves as an important bridge between the Greek diaspora and the motherland.

His Eminence will also attend as a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, honoring the initiative to support the missionary work of Sister Nektaria, a nun symbolizing the fight against poverty and illiteracy. Additionally, an equal portion of the net proceeds will be allocated to support the important work of the organization “Floga: Association of Parents of Children with Cancer.”

Co-organizer of the event is the financial investment company Ambrosia Capital.

The performance of “Zorba” is under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments and with the support of the Ministry of Health.

It is noteworthy that this significant dance performance marks the 60th anniversary of the filming of the eponymous film and the composition of the unforgettable music written by Mikis Theodorakis. At the same time, the 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis’s birth in 2025 provides the impetus for the start of the global tour of the performance, which will travel to London, Rome, Paris, Cairo, and New York in 2025 and 2026.
