The history of maritime communication at sea on “Saturday Shift” | 28 Sept. 2024

The head of the Telecommunications Museum of the OTE Group, Ms. Nikoleta Liakostavrou, and the historian and curator of the museum, Mr. Sotiris Koutoumanis, are the guests on the Saturday special edition of the show “Fair Winds and Following Seas” hosted by Antonis Karagiannakis on VOICE OF GREECE.

The program provides a review of communication from ancient times to the present at sea and on ships, as communication has been essential and significant for shipping and its development. From watchtowers and the sound of horns, we have reached Wi-Fi and artificial intelligence (AI). It will be an interesting discussion about the history and evolution of telecommunications on ships, in cities, villages, mountains, and islands in Greece.

The Telecommunications Museum of the OTE Group has documented all this in a beautiful and creative way, and this is what we will convey in “GOOD SEAS,” which no one should miss.

Produced and presented by Antonis Karagiannakis
