Antonis Karaiskos, professor at Ryukoku Uni. in Japan, on Voice of Greece | 10 Oct. 2024, 11:30

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, shortly after 11:30 AM Athens time, the show “Take Your Time” will host a phone interview from distant Japan with Professor of Civil Law and Consumer Law, Antonis Karaiskos.

The Greek professor at Ryukoku University studied at the Law School of Athens and completed a master’s degree in Civil Law. During his student years, he worked as an interpreter and translator of Japanese-Greek/English texts and was one of the recommended interpreters/translators for the Japanese embassy in Athens, while also teaching Japanese language courses.

In 2006, at the age of 26, while already practicing law, he left for Tokyo, Japan, for doctoral studies at the Law School of Waseda University, with a scholarship from the Japanese government. After graduating, he taught at private universities in Kyoto, Saitama, and Osaka, and in 2016 became an associate professor at the Law School of Kyoto University.

His research interests focus on Civil Law (primarily contract law) as well as Consumer Law.
