Captain Panagiotis Koumaras from Ligourio continues recounting his maritime life, having served the sea and Greek commercial shipping with love and dedication for 25 years. He never forgets, no matter how many years pass, the incident with young Giorgos, a deck cadet, who was saved at the last moment in the middle of the Pacific Ocean from acute peritonitis. Reflecting on the old days, he shares that in Santos, Brazil, there were two bouzouki clubs (Patsa’s and Acropolis), and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, there were five (ATHINAI, PIRAEUS, etc.), where the purely Greek crews of the ships docked in those ports would unwind.
