On Tuesday, 05 August 2025, from 22:00 to 23:00 Athens time, Voice of Greece’s show “Human Landscapes” welcomed Katerina Adam, Professor of Byzantine Music. Just days before the Dormition of the Virgin—often called the “Easter of Summer”—Victoria Kavouriari spoke with her guest about the enduring significance of Byzantine Music through the centuries.
The conversation also touched on the importance of Byzantine Music for Hellenism around the world and the Greek diaspora, as well as the inclusion of the Art of Chanting (Psaltic Art) in UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
