Nikos Kastrinakis, President of the World Council of Cretans and President of the American branch of the Eleftherios Venizelos Foundation, was the guest on “Faraway Words” to discuss the 2026 World Congress of Cretans, which will take place in Chania from 21 to 26 July 2026 at the Orthodox Academy of Crete.
Mr. Kastrinakis spoke about the congress’s scientific conference, “Crete and the Cretans of Today and Tomorrow,” which will feature eight keynote speakers and more than 60 presenters. The conference will focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic cooperation between Crete and the Cretan diaspora. Approximately 150 Cretans from three continents are expected to attend.
