The program welcomed Triantafyllos Kotopoulos, Professor of Creative Writing and Modern Greek Literature and Director and Academic Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Creative Writing. The occasion for the conversation was the 7th International Creative Writing Conference, which will take place in Larnaca from 8 to 10 October 2026 at Pancyprian / UCLan Cyprus.
The conference brings together academics, researchers, educators, writers, and people interested in literature, language, and the many applications of creative writing. The three-day event will feature presentations, workshops, and discussions on creative writing techniques, teaching methods, and emerging trends.
Kotopoulos discussed creative writing and explained the various fields it encompasses: poetry, prose, theater, screenwriting, songwriting, digital media, article writing, and hybrid forms of expression. He emphasized its importance, particularly now that artificial intelligence is becoming a useful tool, and added that creative writing can also serve as a means of education, personal growth, and social participation.
