On Monday, August 26th, from 19:00 to 20:00, the show “Our Town” will feature Angelos Theodorakis-Papaggelidis.
The talented musician, composer, and performer will talk about the environment in which he grew up, deeply rooted in music, as the grandson of Mikis Theodorakis and the son of Dimitris Papaggelidis and Margarita Theodorakis. He will discuss his studies in piano, classical guitar, music technology, and his years in England, where he studied painting.
Angelos will share how he began composing instrumental music and then writing songs in English, leading to his first recorded work, with the exception of one song, “Spasmeno Rodi”, with lyrics by Kostas Fasoulas and performed by Vassilis Papakonstantinou.
The guest will talk about what it’s like to be the grandson of Mikis, how difficult it is to maintain your independence in the shadow of such a musical giant who was not the typical grandfather. He will also discuss the first musical influences he encountered from his mother, the major bands, and his grandfather’s reactions to them, as Mikis couldn’t quite understand that music. Angelos will reveal that his grandfather’s favorite works are the lyrical pieces, “Asikiko Poulaki” and “Helios kai Chronos”.
The talented creator will also talk about his innovative ideas, his plans, his family, as well as the social issues that concern him, and the paths in life he seeks.
