Chryssa Kontogeorgopoulou is the Poet of the Week on Voice of Greece | 16-22 Sept. 2024

A Greek poem each day travels across the frequencies of Voice of Greece, reaching the far corners of the world wherever Greek voices can be heard.

The week from September 16- September 22, 2024, is dedicated to the poet Chryssa Kontogeorgopoulou

Chryssa Kontogeorgopoulou (Magklini) is a graduate and doctor of the Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens (UoA), where she has worked as a researcher and lecturer in various programs, as well as at the National Hellenic Research Foundation. She has curated and presented cultural programs on ERT (First Program). For many years, she has worked as a tour guide, not only in conventional programs but also in her own innovative projects that link Poetry with the Archaeological landscape, specifically at the Monasteries of Kaisariani and Daphni. She has published several poetry collections. Her collection “Lypi Ena Ftero” (24 Grammata Publishing, 2021) was awarded the Academy of Athens’ Aikaterini Stathopoulou Prize as one of the best collections of the three-year period.
She has also published translations and theatrical monologues, and has curated volumes and anthologies. Her lyrics have been set to music for cinema and discography. Currently, she works as a philologist teacher at the Experimental High School of the Anavryta School.
