Marilena Mela, PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics and director of the clinical diagnostic laboratory at the New York Genome Center, is is the guest on the show “Remarkable Personalities“, hosted by Mina Ralli, on Saturday, July 20, at 16:00 Athens time.

Mrs Mela is the guest on “Remarkable Personalities”. Mrs Mela talks about her research in the field of genomic diagnosis of cancer and other genetic diseases and explains when genetic testing for cancer is necessary.
She reveals to us the risk factors for the occurrence of cancer and the decisive role of early diagnosis and positive attitude in dealing with the disease.
Dr. Mela, originally from Lefkada and now residing in the United States, discusses the challenges she faced in her academic career and the secret to her success.
