“Degenerate Art” | 28 Oct. 2024, 11:00

It goes without saying that there is no such thing as “Degenerate Art”…! However, on the occasion of the anniversary of October 28th, in our special episode on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM Athens time, we are doing a deep dive into a supreme moment of madness with a focus on visual arts!

We will hear about “Entartete Kunst,” the exhibition organized by the Nazi party in Munich in 1937 to condemn modern art. The aim was to demonstrate its supposed degenerate nature in order to promote regime ideas that glorified the Aryan German volk. However, things did not go as planned, and in the end (spoiler alert!) aesthetics did not transform into a political doctrine…
