Greek flutist Sofia Mavrogenidou visits “Our Town” | 11 May 2024, 12:00

On Saturday, May 11th, 12:00-13:00 Athens time, the show “Our Town” will host the internationally acclaimed musician Sofia Mavrogenidou.

The flute soloist and pianist will talk to us about important moments from her rich artistic career, her collaborations with leading conductors and musicians, and her collaborations with great symphony orchestras, abroad and in Greece.

She will refer in particular to those with the Greek Camerata, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pierre Boulez Contemporary Orchestra, and the Cappella Istropolitana, and she will talk about her collaborations with famous conductors.

The guest, a founding member of the band “Apodrasi”, will refer to the many recordings she has taken part in, the books she has written, and the melodies of important Greek and foreign poets.

Reference will also be made to her teaching at the Contemporary Conservatory of Art, where she is the director. Music from important works he has performed will be heard.
