Every week, seven poems are broadcast, with one Greek poem read each day, traveling across the frequencies of “Voice of Greece” to the far reaches of the world where Greek voices can be heard.
Ilias Papakostantinou was born in Desfina, Fokida, and has published 10 books of poetry and prose, as well as contributing to many collective anthologies. His poems have been translated into several languages, and he has been awarded multiple times for his poetry, both in Greece and internationally. Additionally, 75 of his lyrics have been set to music and performed by outstanding musicians and singers.
Papakostantinou has participated in poetry festivals and presentations of his work abroad. His poems have been published in newspapers, magazines, and online, and are frequently broadcast on stations like Melodia FM, the ERT radio stations, and 9.84, among others. He organizes music-poetry performances with exceptional performers and artists, aiming to bring poetry to a wider audience. He has unpublished material for 18 books and serves as the Vice President of the Panhellenic Union of Writers.
