On Monday, October 14, 2024, at 18:00 Athens time, jazz vocalist and musician Kassandra Charalambi is a guest on Alexis Kostas‘ show “Voices and Music,” live in the studio of Voice of Greece.
Kassandra Charalambi was born and raised in Athens. Her love for music led her from classical piano to jazz studies in San Sebastián, Spain, and later to Queens College in New York.
She has been active on the global jazz scene for years, performing at major venues in Spain such as the “Mojo Workin’ Donostia Festival,” where she did vocals for soul legends like Kim Weston, Dee Dee Sharp, and Mitch Ryder.
In 2017, she released her first CD of jazz standards under the name Couch Duo, with guitarist Minas Liakos.
Today, she is based in New York, where she has shared the stage with renowned jazz musicians such as Johnny O’Neal, Emmet Cohen, Saul Rubin, and Michael Kanan. She has performed at venues like Minton’s Playhouse, Zinc Bar, Arthur’s Tavern, Mezzrow Jazz Club, and The Django at The Roxy Hotel.
