On Sunday, November 5, 12:00-14:00 Greek time, the show “Our Town” will present a special tribute to Albert Camus.
In the studio, Giannis Prelorentzos, Professor of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and PhD in Philosophy of the University of Sorbonne (Paris IV), in a discussion with Themis Rodamitis, will refer to aspects of Camus’ work and his personality, less known to the wider public.
The show will emphasize on the things that the great writer and philosopher loved, the fights he gave with honesty, faith and a fighting spirit, always “standing” next to man and the noble values of mankind.
Reference will be made to his rich political career, his trailblazing ideas, his love for life, art, the theater, as well as the simple everyday things that we often overlook.
Sun, light, stone, nature played an important role in Camus’ inspirations, but mainly it was his interaction with people, with the great artists and writers of his time. Special reflections and music by French and Algerian artists will be also be heard.
Daphne Rodamitou will speak from Paris about the absurd and rebellious Man in Albert Camus’ work.
(Camus was born on November 7, 1913)
