On Sunday, March 3rd, at 12:00-14:00, the show Our Town will pay tribute to the poet George Seferis.
The show will present his entire experiential and intellectual journey, the famous generation of the ’30s, his many activities in Egypt where as a diplomat he followed the Greek government, the Nobel Prize, in his late years.
Guest on the show, the foremost scholar of Seferis, Dimitris Daskalopoulos, will refer to the poet’s relationship with his fellow artists in Greece and abroad, his dedication to tradition, history and lost civilizations.
The show will make special reference to the poet’s vision, his responsibility towards man, his firm values, his honesty.
References will be made to his main poetic works, his essays, his correspondences.
Themis Rodamitis will present unknown facts about the post-Nobel period that refer to the “poet’s contribution” to the promotion to a certain extent of our modern culture. There will be well known poems put in music as well as recitations by the poet himself.
