Panos Kyparissis visits “Our Town” | 29 June 2024, 12:00

In an in-depth discussion with Themis Rodamitis, Panos Kyparissis reads his poems and talks about his many and varied activities: directing, acting, translations for the theater and his teaching activities.

The award-winning poet, recipient of the State Prize for Poetry, discusses and reads excerpts from his recent book “Falling Dust,” which has received significant critical acclaim. He also refers to his family and refugee political roots, the value of memory that shaped his journey as a poet, as well as the values of knowledge of language and of silence, aesthetics, compassion, friendship, love and death.

The distinguished poet of the 1970s generation also talks about the great ancient authors, some of whom he has translated for the plays he has staged, as well as the poets from the Greek and international scene who have stood out and influenced him.

The academic and editor of his work, Maria Psachou, also speaks on the show.
