Rena Tzolaki and Giorgos Alexandrinos on ”Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift” | 25.11.2023, 08.00

Visual artist Rena Tzolaki and author Giorgos Alexandrinos who live in Paris join Antonis Karagiannakis on the Saturday edition of the show “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Saturday, 11.25.2023.

“People must always be creative and despite their problems find ways to overcome them and follow their passion, which gives them life, thought and strength to face the difficulties of today. If you are discouraged, you must find continuity in your dream, which will give you strength, hope, and courage to do things you have not dared to do”, says painter and printmaker Rena Tzolaki in her introduction.

We talk about the sea and the ships that have been her inspiration for many of her works. She talks about her acquaintance with great and well-known artists, such as Tsarouchis, Moralis, Kefallinos, and others.

She has been in Athens for a few days lately and is working on the implementation of the ART project, i.e. the establishment of her foundation, for visual artists who have not had the opportunity to become widely known for various reasons. She dreams of creating this space to help and showcase the works of many artists whose works have remained in obscurity.

She has author Giorgos Alexandrinos on her side, who believes in her a lot and is helping her in the realization of this dream, stressing “I believe in this very much and want it to be organized in order to help artists, who have yet to become acclaimed, showcase their work”.

Through richly drawn characters — captains, sailors, master shipwrights, village elders, pirates, saints, and folk heroines like Zantana — the book brings to life a world where history and myth converge.
