“The Republic of Baklava” | 18 Jan. 2025, 10:00

What does it mean to embark on something you know from the start has little chance of succeeding, yet you choose to live it with selflessness?
A Greek-Turkish couple, Sophia and Fatih, set an example by creating their own utopia, The Republic of Baklava. They show us what life might look like in a perfect world where everything functions harmoniously and without problems.

The director of the play, Anestis Azas, and one of the screenwriters, Michalis Pitidis, who breathed life into this romantic and hilarious theatrical mockumentary, join Ariadni’s Thread on Saturday, January 18, at 10:00 (Athens time). They discuss whether utopias are beautiful ideals doomed to fail or a way to make our lives better.

Editor and Presenter: Ariadni-Sofia Kouri
Sound Engineering: Stefania Tsakiri

Broadcast: Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:00 (Athens time).
