The musical ensemble Asma Cordis on “Our Town” | 06 Oct. 2024, 12:00

On Sunday, October 6th, from 12:00 to 14:00 Athens time, “Our Town” will host the group Asma Cordis.

The musical ensemble consists of four young women: Anna-Maria Markantoni, Georgia Palioura, Irene Athanasoula and Marianna Athanasoula, who form one of the finest polyphonic groups.

They will discuss their approach to traditional songs, their participation in international and local festivals (Ethnomusic, Ethno Sweden, Athens Irish Festival, North Carolina Folk Festival, etc.), and their recognition in international programs where they collaborate with renowned musicians. Special mention will be made of their collaboration with musician and author Stefanos Dorbarakis.

These talented young women will speak with Themis Rodamitis about topics that concern today’s youth, such as knowledge, friendship, love, as well as theater, cinema, poetry, and radio.

The four women, who present a wide polyphonic repertoire from countries such as New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, Southern Italy, Armenia, Cyprus, etc., will sing live in the studio for the listeners of Voice of Greece.
