Voice of Greece, actively present in current affairs, closely follows and reports on the dramatic developments unfolding in the Middle East and Cyprus, keeping its listeners around the world continuously informed through a steady flow of news, analysis and reports. At the same time, the program of ERT’s international radio service is enriched with radio narratives that sensitively approach issues of fear and trauma experienced by children in the climate created by these developments.
Specifically, on Saturday, 7 March 2026, from 16:00 to 19:00 (Athens time), Thanasis Houpis will be behind the microphone in the Voice of Greece studio. During the three-hour news broadcast he will speak with Spyros Sideris, diplomatic correspondent and founder and director of the Independent Balkan News Agency; Dr Dionysis Tsirigotis, Associate Professor in the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus; and Kostas Pikramenos, Research Director at CP Consulting, based in Marseille, and expert adviser to the European Parliament on Turkey-related issues.
Later the same day, 19:00–20:00 (Athens time), the program “Narratives – Stories for Children and Grown-ups”, presented by Maria Karagiannaki Iona, will feature two stories about the strength, determination and courage children need to face each new day.
Similarly, on Sunday, 8 March 2026, 11:00–12:00 (Athens time), the new episode of Voice of Greece’s English-language programme “Infinitely Curious”, presented by Katerina Batzaki, will be dedicated to children and their ability to overcome obstacles — even in moments when the world around them becomes uncertain, harsh or unjust.
On Sunday evening, 18:00–21:00 (Athens time), Thanasis Houpis will once again be in the Voice of Greece studio for another special news broadcast. Contributing to the discussion on international developments will be Ibrahim Mouslem, physician and Balkan representative of the Syrian-Kurdish party Democratic Union Party (PYD); Simos Angelides, lawyer based in Nicosia, Cyprus, specialising in Human Rights and practicing before the Supreme Court of Cyprus and the European Court of Human Rights; and Dr Athanasios G. Platias, Emeritus Professor of Strategy at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus and President of the Council for International Relations.
