Maria Kant (Kantonidou) is the “Poet of the Week” | 19–25 Jan. 2026

Voice of Greece, ERT’s radio service for Greeks around the world, dedicated to the dissemination, support, and promotion of the Greek language and Greek culture, has included in its program a series of two-minute poetry features titled “Poet of the Week”.

Each week is dedicated to a contemporary Greek poet or poetess, with poets of the Greek Diaspora also prominently featured. The poets themselves curate the radio interpretations of their work, while the poems are accompanied by music from much-loved composers. Seven poems are presented each week—one Greek poem per day—travelling through the airwaves of Voice of Greece to every corner of the world where Greek voices can be heard.

The week from 19 January 2026 to 25 January 2026 is dedicated to the poet Maria Kant (Kantonidou).

Music curation: Maria Remboutsika
Sound editing: Giorgos Giannakoulas – Eleftheria Papoutsaki
Broadcast: Monday to Friday at 07:00 and 21:00 (Athens time), and weekends at 19:00 (Athens time)
