This Saturday, 02 August, from 12:00 to 13:00 Athens time, the program “Our Town” welcomes Spyros Soukis, the gifted and seasoned blues and rock guitarist. A passionate performer with an unmistakable sound, Soukis will speak about the music that shaped him, the concerts he plays across Europe and in Manhattan’s renowned clubs—where, as critics often note, he brings “the Greek soul of the blues” to life, weaving it seamlessly into the fabric of New York’s musical scene.
In conversation, he’ll reflect on the legacy of rock legends, the fresh sounds echoing through the city’s boroughs, and how New York serves as a true “melting pot” of world music—an ever-evolving crossroads where he feels fortunate to live and create.
The artist will also speak about the Greek diaspora, their daily lives and musical sensibilities, and share insights into his own listening habits and inspirations. Throughout the hour, listeners will hear original compositions performed by Soukis himself on guitar, accompanied by his band.
