On Sunday, 27 July 2025, from 12:00 to 14:00 Athens time, the radio show “Our Town” on Voice of Greece is dedicated to the great virtuoso and master of the clarinet, Petroloukas Chalkias, on the anniversary of his birth.
Joining the studio live are his grandchildren, Nikos and Petros Chalkias, who will share stories and perform music. Also featured are polyphonic song teacher Evangelos Kotsou, the vocal ensemble of Nikos Menoudakis, Roula Rifouna, Argyro Karavinou, and violinist Aris Broustos.
Rare recordings of Chalkias – including some aired for the first time- will be presented, along with reflections on his work as a composer, lyricist, and musician who renewed traditional forms and handed down a remarkable legacy to future generations.
