“My name is Whirlwind”: A story for children with ADHD (Part 3) | 01 Mar. 2025, 17:00

Manos“I’m Manos the Whirlwind, and this is my story.
I’m not an ordinary kid. Otherwise, they wouldn’t call me Whirlwind. The truth is, I prefer this nickname because in the past, they used to call me devil, troublemaker, rascal, and other things like that. But my mom says that a whirlwind is definitely something good and that everyone, even whirlwinds, deserve love and care. I like it when she says that.”

Philippos“I don’t know how many of you have a whirlwind as a friend, but I do—Manos.
Sometimes he drives me crazy because he gets angry easily, always wants to be first in line, interrupts when I speak, and often gets us into trouble. But to be honest, he’s the only one who never says ‘no’ to my wild ideas and always listens to the stories I create in my mind. That’s why in my first film, when I become a director, he’ll be the star!”

The radio show Narratives – Stories and Fairy Tales for All Ages presents the third part of the moving story of little Manos, a child with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, from 17:00 to 18:00 (Athens time) on Voice of Greece.

The book, published by Kedros Editions, is written by Maya Delivoria and features stunning illustrations by Apostolos Ioannou. Alongside Manos’s story, the book includes an informative note on ADHD by psychotherapist and family therapist Era Moulaki.

Produced and presented by Maria Karagiannaki Iona

Broadcast: Saturday, March 1st, 2025, from 17:00 to 18:00 (Athens time)
