“The Elves of Tradition” present the project “Noble Songs” on Friday, May 9, at 3:00 p.m. (with a repeat broadcast at 11:00 p.m.) on the airwaves of Voice of Greece.
The repertoire featured in this recording draws primarily from the works of two seminal figures in the urban folk music of the interwar period:
Giannis Dragatsis, also known as Ogdontakis (Smyrna, 1886 – Athens, 1958), and
Panagiotis Toundas (Smyrna, 1886 – Athens, 1942).
Recorded in Studio E of Hellenic Radio, the following musicians take part:
