Captain Nikolas Kazakis from Heraklion, Crete, talks about the sea, stating that “you shouldn’t be afraid of the sea, but you should respect it,” while advising young people that “only if they don’t mind seasickness and love the sea and the profession of seafaring should they pursue it.”
He first boarded the M/V “Aspasia,” a small cargo ship, and the most difficult situation he encountered during his years at sea was during a major storm in the Strait of the Philippines.
