At the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Nanjing, Greece claimed a silver medal thanks to Emmanouil Karalis in the pole vault event.
A total of five Greek athletes represented the country in a competition that featured 516 athletes from all five continents—274 men and 242 women.
Christos Meletoglou, Technical Director of SEGAS (the Hellenic Athletics Federation) and a sixth-place Olympian in the triple jump at the 2004 Athens Games, joined “Athletic Voice” with Grigoris Nanis on Voice of Greece, to provide in-depth commentary on Greece’s presence and performance in China.
