Mr. Moissis Nikolaidis talked about the history of Greeks in Sweden, from the first wave of immigration to the most recent, to the actions of the Federation, which this year celebrates 50 years of activity and did not fail to emphasize that the Greeks of Sweden have been integrated but not assimilated. As he stressed, the Federation gathers all Greeks of Sweden since all the communities (20 in total) are members of the Federation. It is also characteristic that on October 22, he will travel to Northern Sweden, to the city of Luleå, to welcome a new community created by Greeks who have emigrated in recent years to the Swedish state. Finally, he stressed the importance of the Greek Diaspora on national issues and mentioned his recent visit to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden where he touched upon the Turkish provocations.
Afterwards, guest on the broadcasting program was the talented singer Kleoniki Demiri who, after a series of successful performances all over Greece and abroad (Paris, Montreal, Brussels, Florence, Tirana, Amman, Skopje, etc.), will travel to Stockholm, as a guest of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Sweden, in the context of the 50th-anniversary celebrations. Ms. Demiri will present the musical performance “Greek composers travel the world” with beloved songs of great Greek composers in Stockholm, on Saturday 15 October.
