On Sunday, May 12th, Kalliopi (Popi) Koutroutsou, Tae Kwon Do coach and founder of the Greek Tae Kwon Do Spartans Hellas School in Copenhagen, was the person of interest on the show “Greeks Around the World– Greece in Denmark“, presented by archaeologist Elina Stamatatou.
Kalliopi (Popi) Koutroutsou graduated from Arsakeio Psychiko and studied Computer Science. She has worked for 20 years as an executive in Eurobank’s Computer Engineering. Her passion since she was a child was sports and especially martial arts, which she secretly studied from her father. By the time he finished school, she already held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She started her racing activity and very quickly after a lot of effort she became a member of the National Team with many distinctions in Greece and abroad for many years. She holds (Black Belt) 6th DAN Master in Tae Kwon Do. She is a graduate Tae Kwon Do coach from the European Tae Kwon Do Federation & G.G.A., second division. She has participated in road races and the Athens Classic Marathon (2000). She was a member of the Greek National Tae Kwon Do Team (2001-2007). She has won Panhellenic and European championships 1993-1999 and 2001-2007. From 2010 until today she organizes seminars and Training camps in Copenhagen in collaboration with Greek teams.
