Litsa Diamanti is a Greek laïko singer who became famous in the 1960s and 1970s. She has been described as the “wonder-child of the 1960s and the absolute diva of the post-1974 period” while her hits are regarded as all-time classics. As for Haroula Lambraki, she is one more goddess of laiko: “From the age of five I knew I wanted to be a singer. I would go to church with my uncle, who was a cantor, and I would sing with him. My parents were farmers. They were going to the fields, and my sisters and I were going with them. We sang traditional songs and we sang them with soul”.
