Giorgos Menelaos Marinos is a poet, songwriter and author.
Since 1960, when he left Greece as a young man, he traveled and worked in many European countries such as Sweden, Norway, Russia, Italy, former East Germany, Switzerland, and Catalonia. In 1965, he settled in Denmark, where he started a family, worked as a singing teacher in schools, put on theater performances as a clown with the ‘suitcase theater’, had a permanent column in the newspaper Politiken and was much loved by the Danish public. After the fall of the military junta, he sang for many years in small nightclubs in Plaka. 36 of his books have been published and many of his poems have been set to music. His poems are included in the textbooks of the first and second grades of Greek schools.
In Denmark, but also in Greece, he has appeared in children’s television shows.
He has also published 5 LPs.
Today he lives permanently in Aegina, always writing poems and singing with his guitar for friends.
