Songs about cities pt. 6 (the soul & blues edition)
”The Blues, just like Rembetika, cannot be translated” – Robert Manthoulis
(Le blues entre les dents)
On Saturday, February 17th, 2024, the show “My Wandering Heart” with Anna Prokova continues the musical tribute to the cities of the world, which began last month, as an occasion to wander all over the world with some good tunes.
This time we head to US states and cities with a great musical tradition: Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Baton Rouge, Chicago etc, while the sounds will have soul and blues notes.
We will make an effort to ‘translate’ the mood and lyrics of the songs into Greek, despite the fact that, as Roviros Manthoulis rightly argued, “the Blues, just like Rembetika, could not possibly be translated’.
Produced and presented by Anna Prokova
