On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Alexis Kostas hosted Savvas Rakintzakis, conductor and “arranger” of the nine-member vocal ensemble En-Chor, on the show “Voices and Music” on Voice of Greece. Joining him were Kali Theodorou and Eftychis Vardoulakis.
The vocal ensemble En-Chor (pronounced Encore) consists of Valsamia Athanasia, Eftychis Vardoulakis, Sotiria Georgiou, Konstantis Despotis, Sophia Kounela, Kassi Lazari, Stefania Morozini, Vangelis Nikolidakis, and Youli Filippidou. The arrangements and musical direction are by Savvas Rakintzakis – long-time collaborator of composer Stefanos Korkolis – while the artistic direction is handled by Kali Vandorou.
En-Chor brings a fresh breath and freedom to the perception and performance of music. It flirts with almost every genre and dares to change the tone and rhythm of well-known and beloved songs that have stood the test of time, featuring a demanding repertoire that blends pop, rock, gospel, jazz, spirituals, and traditional music, among others.
