On the Tuesday, 03 March 2026 edition of the program “Common Ground”, we got to know Lynistaina, a small mountainous village in Ilia, part of the municipality of Andritsaina–Krestena. The village is built on the southern slopes of Mount Minthi at an altitude of 850 meters.
Our guides were Petros Giannopoulos, president of the Association of Lynistaina Emigrants, who joined the program as a guest in the studio from the United States; Damaskinos Smyrnis, who has lived abroad since 1978 and owns restaurants in Michigan, with roots in Lynistaina; Thanasis Panagoulias, owner of the village café and treasurer of the Association; and Mr. Socrates Smyrnis, a retired Air Vice Marshal and author, now 91 years old.
