In the Tuesday, 12 May 2026 broadcast, we visited a semi-mountainous village in central-eastern Evia, overlooking the Aegean through a series of beautiful beaches. Oktonia is built at the foothills of Mount Kallimani, above the beaches of Mourteri, Agios Merkourios, Bournia, Aili, and Kalamio, just a few kilometers south of Kymi. It is a village with a rich history that literally disappears into the depths of the centuries.
Our guides on this broadcast were Vasilis Karvouniaris, lawyer and author, who joined the program in the studio; , president of the village community; Panagiota Garoutsou, president of the Association of Oktonians Worldwide; and Kaiti Lagou-Theocharopoulou, president of the Friends of Mourteri Association.
