The lawyer, sailor, and devoted enthusiast of the sea and maritime life, Dimitris Panteleimonitis, speaks on Voice of Greece and the show “Fair Winds and Following Seas”.
Driven by his love for the sea, he chose to serve his military duty in the Hellenic Navy, specifically aboard the destroyer Themistocles.
“I consider that decision one of the best I’ve made. I discovered the world, the sea, myself—and met extraordinary people, from the captain to the sailors,” he recalls. He goes on to say, “The Hellenic Navy is the most efficient administrative structure we have in Greece. To work in this environment, you must truly love the ship and the sea. Hierarchy on board is essential—for order to be maintained and the chain of command to remain unbroken.”
Mr. Panteleimonitis notes that to this day, he remains close friends with many of the men he served with in the Navy.
