“Would you like to become Lefteris’ friend? He has a story to tell you. A song about his very own ‘F’ and an adventure with Mr. No-I-Can’t! But every child also knows Sunbeam, Lefteris’ friend who nests in the heart, loves us and comforts us. She comes and brings us light, so that none of us will feel weak or alone again. All it takes is for a child to think of her—and she will be there. So that children may hope for better days, and never give in to darkness and fear.”
“Maya lives in a large, bustling city. Every day she finds joy and peace in a beautiful garden—a garden she feels is her own. One day the garden gate closes forever, and Maya finds herself facing disappointment, despair, anger, and sadness. Through this journey, however, she discovers that loss can be transformed into creation, that hope can bloom again, and that joy lies in starting anew… planting seeds for a new garden of her own.”
The program “Narratives– Stories and Fairy Tales for Children and Grown-Ups” presents two brave and heartwarming tales. Two wonderful stories that speak about the strength, determination, and courage children need to face each day. In the first half hour, we narrate the story by Vera Savvidi, “Lefteris Has F”, published by Oselotos, illustrated by Alina Sapranidou. In the second half hour, we present “Maya’s Garden” by Aspasia Sigala, published by Thermaikos, with illustrations by Marilia Fotiadou. A tender and hopeful story for children and adults alike—about resilience, creativity, and the hope that never fades.
